As of May 25, 2018, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC, commonly known as GDPR. The scope of application of the provisions of the regulation is very wide. In fact, it is not only the territory of the European Union. Moreover, obligated entities include not only entrepreneurs, but also other entities that do not conduct business activities, such as foundations and associations. The scope of application of the provisions of the Regulation in practice may therefore pose problems.
